Happy Handwriting Summer Program
It’s been proven that proper handwriting also helps boost reading, spelling, and memory. Yet many children never effectively learn the skills, or they lose them to some extent over summer break. Through professional intervention using such programs as award-winning Handwriting Without Tears®, countless children every year are overcoming their frustrating limitations and achieving confidence and success as lifelong learners.
This multi-sensory session based on the Handwriting Without Tears® curriculum is designed to prevent or address learning loss or lack in this area and bring your child up to speed for the school year(s) ahead. It will be taught in developmental sequence, through multi-sensory means and fun and engaging activities, by certified handwriting specialist and Educational Therapist Mary Kay Glassman. Students will learn proper handwriting posture, grip and paper placement and how to properly print all capital and lowercase letters and write numbers.
Children must be accompanied by a parent or other attentive adult for feedback, and all are expected to work cooperatively and respectfully/quietly as they are guided through each lesson with step-by-step modeling by the instructor. Students will receive a bag of materials on the first day (included in tuition price) and will return the non-consumables and may keep the consumables at session’s end.
